The following information has been provided to help you understand what we as a people of faith believe. It is based upon the Bible as our sole source of authority in determining doctrine and practice. While this information is provided for you, in no way should it ever replace the Word of God in establishing our theology. We are people of the Word – not of creed or of man’s interpretation of the Word. This information is not meant to be all-encompassing and there may be other issues about which you have questions. For a deeper look into our Statements of Faith, we would like to invite you to join our Welcome to the Family classes.

Crosspoint Church is a Christian church which is not affiliated with any denomination or organization. We are led by local elders (which include our pastoral team, governing and serving elders). Our mission is to make disciples (fully-devoted followers) of Jesus Christ. We believe that happens when we know God through Jesus Christ and we:

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.2 Timothy 3.16; I Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 1:21

We believe in one God revealed as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.Matthew 28:19; John 1:14; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 1:15-20; Hebrews 1:1-3; Revelation 1:4-6

We believe in the virgin birth and the deity of Jesus Christ, that He was fully God and fully man.Matthew 1:23; John 1:14

We believe that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.John 3:16; Titus 2:14

We believe that man, created in the image of God, by voluntary disobedience fell into the depths of sin.Genesis 1:27; Romans 5:12

We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly through grace.Romans 10:6-10; 1 John 1:9

We believe in the commandment of water baptism by immersion in the name of the Lord.Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Acts 10:48

We believe in observing the Lord’s Supper.1 Corinthians 11:24-26

We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, an experience following conversion, and that His incoming is after the same manner as in the days of the Early Church.Acts 1:5; 10:44-46; 19:1-6

We believe in the Spirit-filled life, that it is the will of God that believers walk in the Spirit moment by moment.Galatians 5:16-25, Ephesians 4:30-32; 5:18

We believe that the Holy Spirit bestows enabling ministry gifts upon believers; and that we should show spiritual “fruit” as evidence of a Spirit-filled life.1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Galatians 5:22-25

We believe a Christians’ moderation should be obvious to others and should never lead people into extremes of fanaticism.

We believe that divine healing is the power of Jesus Christ to heal the sick in answer to the prayer of faith.Mark 16: 17, 18; James 5:14-16

We believe that the second coming of Christ is personal and imminent.Matthew 24:36, 42, 44; 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17

We believe that it is our sacred duty to identify ourselves with a congregation of believers.Acts 16:5; Hebrews 10:24-25

We believe that all shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ.Revelation 20:11, 12; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Colossians 3:12, 13; Philippians 4:5

We believe that heaven is the glorious habitation of the living God and the eternal home of born-again believers.John 14:2; Revelation 7:15-17

We believe that hell is the place of eternal separation from God for all who reject Christ as Savior.Matthew 13: 41, 42; Revelation 20:10, 15

We believe that tithing and offerings are ordained of God to sustain His ministry, spread the Gospel, and release personal blessing.Malachi 3:10; 1 Corinthians 16: 1, 2

We believe that the Christian covenant of marriage is sacred, defined by God in the Scriptures, remaining as a holy symbol of Christ and His enduring covenant with the church and as such cannot be redefined by man or any civil government but remains as a covenant between one male and one female. As followers of Jesus Christ this is what we mean when we use the word “marriage”. This differentiation from other types of unions is not one of condemnation or judgement but one of devotion to Jesus, the Scriptures, and the community of the Holy Spirit.Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5; Mark 10:7; Ephesians 5:22-23
