A PRAYER: GOD, my primary allegiance is to Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God. I lift my eyes to remember that YOU reign above it all—that heaven is your throne, and the earth is your footstool,
HELP ME see that every person with whom I disagree is created in YOUR image and You sent Your Son to die for them, that they would not perish but have eternal life. Convict me of the truth that the “wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” Fix it in my mind that the gospel produces God’s righteousness.
JESUS, make us your people, one Church, one body, even as You and the Father are One; heal our divisions and help us love one another with brotherly affection, PLEASE remind me of Your mission and Jesus’ great commission to go and make disciples of every nation, including those who think and look different from me. Help me to remember why You came. You didn’t come to save America, but to save sinners—of whom I am one.
